Environment Centre
The Torquay College Environment Centre is a unique and much-loved hub of hands-on learning and curiosity.
A place where students connect with the natural world through real-life experiences with living creatures.
Home to an amazing collection of animals, including Cuddles the python, Monty and Titan the snakes, bearded dragons, frogs, fish, lizards and more,
the Environment Centre offers students an incredible opportunity to learn about animal care, habitats, lifecycles, and environmental responsibility in an interactive setting.
Students develop confidence and empathy as they feed, observe and care for the animals, learning about biodiversity, ecosystems and the vital role each species plays in our environment.
The centre also encourages scientific inquiry, inspiring students to ask questions, investigate and deepen their understanding of the living world.
Beyond the classroom, the Environment Centre fosters community connection, welcoming volunteers, families and visitors who share our passion for sustainability and wildlife education.
It’s a space that reflects Torquay College’s commitment to curiosity, respect and care for all living things, nurturing future environmental stewards who are connected, compassionate and curious about the world around them.
